Make an Endowment Gift

The Shaw Island Library & Historical Society relies entirely on our supporters to fund its annual operations and initiatives.  Your gift at any level is a valuable contribution to fulfilling our critical mission.

Legacy donors have notified the Shaw Island Library & Historical Society of provisions in their will to leave a bequest or other planned gift. These gifts, regardless of their size, are a powerful legacy for our library and historical society, helping to sustain our current and future work.

There are three ways to make a legacy gift to Shaw Island Library & Historical Society.

Make a charitable bequest through a will

Your attorney can provide you with several options for bequest language.

Name us as a beneficiary in your retirement plan

The easiest way to make a legacy gift is to name the Shaw Island Library & Historical Society as a beneficiary of your Individual Retirement Account (IRA), other retirement account, or life insurance policy.

If you have online access to your account, doing so may take only a few minutes. You may designate the Shaw Island Library & Historical Society as the primary or contingent beneficiary and provide our address (P.O. Box 844, Shaw Island, WA 98286) and federal tax ID number (91-6068663).
